Statement of Faith
We believe:
- In the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testament Scriptures which are inerrant in the original manuscripts. The Bible constitutes divine and final authority for faith and conduct.
- In one true, living and eternal God, Creator of all things, who is infinitely perfect, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, unchangeable, existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
- In the full deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His incarnation by the conception of the Holy Spirit through the virgin birth of Mary, His sinless life, His miracles, His inerrant teaching, His substitutionary death and atonement for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His ascension and His exaltation to the right hand of God the Father. Jesus Christ, Head of the Church, our Advocate, Intercessor and Representative before God, will one day return to judge the living and the dead and establish His eternal Kingdom.
- In the person of the Holy Spirit and recognize His activity in creation, and in Christ’s incarnation, resurrection, and glorification. He convicts of sin, regenerates, baptizes, seals, indwells, sanctifies, fills, anoints, teaches, guides calls, liberates, strengthens and transforms believers into Christlikeness. He also administers spiritual gifts, empowers for ministry, produces spiritual fruit, and intercedes for believers.
- That man was originally created sinless in the Image of God for the purposes of fellowshipping with God, of worshipping God, of glorifying God and of carrying out God’s purposes. Man consists of body, soul and spirit.
- That man was tempted by Satan and fell through disobedience, incurring the punishment of physical, spiritual and eternal death. All men are born with a sinful nature.
- That man can only be saved through the atoning work of Jesus Christ. Salvation is received by faith through grace and accompanied by true repentance of one’s sins. Salvation will result in regeneration, forgiveness of sins, justification before God, adoption as God’s children, sanctification and eternal life.
- In the imminent, visible and personal return of Jesus Christ in power and in glory to judge and to reign eternally.
- In the bodily resurrection of the dead and in the judgment of all. The wicked before God will be sentenced to everlasting punishment, suffering consciously in the lake of fire. The righteous before God will be entering into everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord.
- In the personality of the created, fallen angel, Satan. Satan and his followers are the enemies of God, God’s saints and God’s holy angels. Satan was defeated at Calvary and will be cast into the lake of fire for eternal punishment.
- That the Church is the body of Christ of which Christ is the Head. The true Church is composed of all those who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
